It’s Christmas time… holiday songs are on the radio, leaves have fallen and cold weather is on it’s way! In our church family, Christmas marks the season of Advent. The word "advent" is derived from the Latin word, "adventus", which means “coming". We believe that one day, Jesus will return to claim back His creation. And so we wait, patiently and with anticipation, as the ancients long ago waited for a messiah to come. But we do not wait, wasting our time, sitting around… we are on the move while we wait! We celebrate God’s love for us, we tell the stories of His goodness and faithfulness and we serve our community to extend God’s love to others. Our theme for Advent this year, “Come let us adore Him… with good gifts!” Through the life of God’s Son, Jesus, He brought hope, peace, joy and love into the world. We believe these are some of the greatest gifts ever given to us. James 1:17, 18 from the New Testament of the Bible reminds us of this promise, “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.” Join with is in celebrating these great gifts and find out why you are God’s greatest treasure. It is our prayer that you experience the true meaning of Christmas this year. From our church family to you and yours... Have a very Merry Christmas and blessings for a joyous and prosperous New Year!

2nd CANDLE – (purple)
God kept his promise of a Savior who would be born in Bethlehem. Preparation means to “get ready”. Help us to be ready to welcome YOU, O GOD! “As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: ‘A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all mankind will see God’s salvation‘
(Luke 3:4-6)
